Wednesday through Friday Nights
    Beginning at 4:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. admission will be charged
   - 13 years and older, admission is $4.00
   - 12 years and younger, admission is free


Saturday
   Beginning at NOON through 9:00 pm admission will be charged
   - 13 years and older, admission is $4.00
   - 12 years and younger, admission is free

All persons enter the fairgrounds during regulated hours (those listed above for admission) will be charged an admission fee. Volunteers must contact their event leader for work day gate passes.  Remember -- Admission fees support the Van Buren County Fair & Livestock Association and the organization directing parking. Parking will be staffed by a different non profit youth group each day.

YOUTH TALENT CONTEST

Entry Categories
1 - Vocal Solo
2 - Vocal Group
3 - Dance Solo
4 - Dance Group
5 - Instrumental Solo
6 - Variety

Regulations:
1. The age limit is from 10 to 20 inclusive. A contestant must be 10 years of age by the time of
the State Regional Contest and not over 20 years of age by the time of the finals at the State
contest.

2. Contestant must be a legal resident of Arkansas, single and never married.

3. Contestants must legally reside in Van Buren County for 90 days immediately preceding
the county contest.

4. Talent presentations must not exceed THREE minutes. Costuming and vocal utterance (including vocal and taped musical lyrics) must be in good taste and appropriate for Family Entertainment!

5. Musical accompaniment for any act must be either a CD or a tape. Any act which includes self accompaniment will be considered as a multiple talent act and must be entered in the variety category.

6. All entry forms must be signed by each of the following:
(1) Contestant(s)  (2) Contestant's Parent or Guardian

7. All entries must be pre-registered. Entry fees are $10.00 per contestant(s) or $20.00 per
group of 5 or more.

8. There will be a trophy winner in each of the 6 categories. These winners will automatically
go on to the Arkansas State Fair. The overall winner will automatically be eligible to per-form
at the Mid South Fair in Memphis, TN. A Mid South Fair Talent Agent will attend our contest and may invite others to the Mid South Fair.

 

VAN BUREN COUNTY FAIR AND LIVESTOCK PARADE

Parade Theme: "The Colors of America"

• Check in and parade lineup will begin at 2:00 pm, corner of Hwy 65 & 65B, grassy area. The Parade will begin at 3:00 pm.

Categories:

A- Schools and Youth Group (4-H, FFA, Showteams, FCCLA)

B- Floats, Civic, Commercial and Non-Commercial (Floats will be judged on appearance, animation, creativity and following the theme.)

C- Marching Units

D- Decorated vehicles, ATV's, Motorcycles

E- Antique, Classic and Reproductions (cars, trucks, and tractors)

F- Motorcade Decorated In Theme

G- Best Dressed Cowboy

H- Best Dressed Cowgirl

I- Animal entries (horseback, animal drawn wagons, etc.)

J- Fair Queens (Not eligible to be judged.)

 L- Bicycles & Strollers, Kids Under 12

All units will pause in front of judges and stand for one minute. Ribbons will be presented Tuesday night during the intermission of the Open Talent Contest.

NOTE: Before lining up all entries must check in with the Parade Chairperson. All horses, donkeys, or mules must comply with Arkansas Act #1306
